Allows Customer Support Professionals to be Hands-free Using Microsoft’s Smart Glasses
PORTSMOUTH, N.H.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#AugmentedReality—XMReality today announced that its XMReality Remote Guidance now supports HoloLens 2, Microsoft’s latest release of its smart glasses.
XMReality Remote Guidance is an Augmented Reality sharing tool that provides remote guidance to users onsite to solve problems or prevent them from occurring. By integrating with HaloLens 2, customer support professionals can now use Remote Guidance hands-free making it easier and safer to multitask and improve productivity. (See XMReality Remote Guidance HoloLens 2 demo video.)
This integration is part of XMReality’s efforts to increase availability of Remote Guidance across a broad array of devices to support customers. The company recently announced support for Microsoft Teams and that is now part of the Microsoft Partner Network.
By using XMReality Remote Guidance with HoloLens 2, users can now use smart glasses to troubleshoot complex problems, inspect and assemble machinery, and onboard and train new personnel. For XMReality’s customers already using smart glasses, the Remote Guidance HoloLens 2 integrations gives them one more option for efficient hands-free remote guidance.
“The HaloLens 2 integration offers XMReality customers another best-in-class device option for hands free operations during remote guidance,” said Alexander Sandström, CTO at XMReality. “Our goal is to provide users the choice of whatever device fits their needs: HoloLens 2 or other smart glasses, smartphones, or computers for complex guiding sessions.”
Microsoft offers several editions of the HoloLens 2, including hardhat integration, to meet the demands of the industrial market. On HoloLens 2, the intuitive hand gestures allow users to touch, grasp and move objects naturally for greater ease of use.
On December 7 and 8, 2021, XMReality will be hosting a free webinar on how XMReality Remote Guidance works on HoloLens 2. Interested parties can sign up here.
