Experience this Novel Procedure at the NASS Surgical Innovation Lab or with Virtual Reality at Booth #2512
ST. PAUL, Minn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Spineology Inc., an innovator in anatomy-conserving surgery, announced today it will feature the recently launched OptiLIF procedure at the 2021 North American Spine Society (NASS) Annual Meeting Sept. 29-Oct. 2 in Boston, Massachusetts. The OptiMesh® Expandable Interbody System, used in the OptiLIFprocedure, provides surgeons and their patients access for lumbar interbody fusion through a 7mm portal and uses specialized instrumentation and techniques that enhance patient recovery by minimizing tissue and bone disruption.
A Food and Drug Administration IDE clinical trial conducted using OptiMesh showed that patients who had the OptiLIF procedure demonstrated significant improvement in pain and function, as well as relatively short procedure times and length of stay.1
“Following an OptiLIF procedure, my patients recover quickly. It is amazing how efficient the procedure is, and that I can also watch my patients experience the reduction in pain they expect and deserve. OptiLIF is elevating expectations and the level of care,” said Dr. Michael Wang from the University of Miami.
At NASS this year, interested surgeons will be able to participate in a Surgical Innovation Lab or experience the complete OptiLIF procedure from Spineology’s booth through virtual reality:
- NASS Surgical Innovation Lab with Michael Wang, M.D., and Stephane Lavoie, M.D., 2-4 p.m. EDT Sept. 30, Green Lab
- Virtual reality Sept. 29-Oct. 2 at Spineology’s booth #2512
“OptiLIF has had a profound impact on my patients and practice. I am excited to share this technology with other surgeons and watch them experience it for the first time at NASS,” said Dr. Stephane Lavoie from Florida Orthopaedic Associates.
“We look forward to showcasing the OptiLIF procedure, which reflects our mission to provide innovative, anatomy-conserving technologies for surgeons and their patients,” said Spineology CEO John Booth. “I anticipate OptiLIF will help take surgery for low back and leg pain to the next level through its ability to provide excellent patient outcomes and exceptional efficiency.”
