New augmented reality app lets users bridge the space between design
concept and final installation
ORLANDO, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Philips
Professional Display Solutions (Philips PDS), the market-leading
digital display solutions provider, today announced its U.S. release of
the industry’s first Augmented Reality Configurator (ARc) app at InfoComm
2019. The game-changing app offers users the ability to recreate how
Philips PDS signage displays would look on any size and type of wall,
delivering the insight system integrators, installer and display
customers need to select the optimal model and screen size.
The ARc app has a fully functional augmented reality toolkit that can be
accessed via a connected tablet or smartphone. By using the device’s
camera, the app captures and measures the selected space and allows
users to see which models and screen size will deliver the best results
for their businesses by showing selected models mounted on the virtual
wall right in front of them. The app can even automatically populate the
space with multiple screens, allowing users to configure a full video
wall with the click of a button.
“Innovation is at the heart of Philips’ brand identity, so finding a way
to use emerging technology like AR to make our customers’ lives easier
is always a priority for us. We want each and every customer to find the
display solution that fits their unique needs and workspace on the first
try and with the ARc app they can do just that,” said Joseph King,
Senior Director, Commercial Displays, North America, Philips
Professional Display Solutions.
The ARc app was first
launched at the Philips PDS booth at ISE 2019 in Europe. After a
positive reception from both clients and partners, the app is being
expanded into the U.S. market to extend brand engagement.
“ARc is a great example of the work our teams are doing to inspire and
lead innovation in the AV marketplace. We’ve been blown away by the
positive feedback we’ve received from our partners since we launched the
app,” said Martin Ware, EMEA Business Management Director at Philips
Professional Display Solutions.
ARc from Philips PDS can be downloaded via the App Store here or
