EDMONTON, Alberta–(BUSINESS WIRE)–edatanetworks Inc. announced today the approval of patent 18/242,055 from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), further building edatanetworks’ intellectual property portfolio with augmented reality.
The US patent 18/242,055 describes a system and method for linking merchant transactions with augmented reality (AR) advertisements. Additionally, consumers are incentivised to purchase via a benefit to their local community. By utilizing rich transaction data, the invention closes the loop between advertising interactions and subsequent purchases.
“As the world becomes more augmented, brands will look to create and deepen emotional connections with consumers through the addition of useful content, offers and other targeted information. The AR invention protected by this patent demonstrates our continued innovation and value creation within our robust intellectual property portfolio,” said Terry Tietzen, Chief Executive Officer of edatanetworks.
