Reelhouse Royalty Free Footage and FX The film collection By Stephen Schleicher

When it comes to creating a film look on video projects, there are a number of ways to accomplish the look with your post and post effect system.  Sometimes it is easier to do it with a stock footage library.  The Reelhouse footage library has a five volume collection, which might be the answer for many of you.

There are a growing number of stock libraries available for any number of projects covering a broad range of themes.  The New Reelhouse film collection contains five different volumes with a combined total of over 800 clips to choose from.

The first two volumes; Film Leader FX Library and Film Leader FX Library 2 contain hundreds of film leaders (both 16 and 35mm), which can be used to convey a real film strip, or can be used as a fun leader for your own videos.

Why the need for so many different film leaders?  I asked myself that same question when I first viewed the collection, but after a moment you realize that you don?t want your project to look like the next persons.  Too many times I have seen the same stock footage clip used again and again in one production after another.  While this may be a testament to how great a stock footage library is, for viewers with a keen eye, it becomes dull.

On the other hand, each of these Film Leader FX Libraries runs $399.  That might be more than enough to make some people hesitate in purchasing this collection.  However, when you compare a similar collection that only sports 71 clips for $349, the cost benefit is apparent.  If you still don?t want to purchase the entire collection, Reelhouse sells individual clips for $129.  Again, it may seem a bit high, but individual clips from a comparable company sell for $150.
