Onstage to the world once more, Realis is initiating the age of large-scale wireless virtual reality(January 08, 2018)
CES 2018, International Consumer Electronics Show, will be held from the 9th to the 12th January in Las Vegas. VR giants such as HTC, Sony, Samsung, Oculus showed up to this exhibition last year. In 2018, Realis is going to make the scene in this event (booth in Sands Expo Convention Center, Wireless devices Zone 41767) competing alongside with these big brands. It is also the second presence on the global stage after its first appearance at 2017 MBBF of Realis's large-scale wireless VR solution, which was developed with its partner by getting over several technical barriers.
In November 2017, Realis’s RTS optical motion capture system was adopted by MBBF, organized by Huawei in London. It gives a whole new blueprint of the wireless multi-person VR interaction experience in the age of 5G internet. The “Goal keeper training” in virtual reality was demonstrated by Realis and won over the media as well as the public and was considered the highlight of the forum.
Mainstream VR systems, represented by Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, have achieved the “forth wall” experience in virtual reality. However, they still need cables to send high-fidelity images to the HMD. The suspended cables have not only a negative effect on immersion, but also imposes limit on the space. It's an active demand of players, as well as a must for VR hardware manufacturers and software developers to make VR experience wireless and applicable for multi-person experience. Removing the cables makes it possible to surpass the limit on the space and the number of players.
The good news is that realis has made this technological breakthrough with partners, combining optical motion capture, HTC VR devices and the wireless technology. This solution, on a par with the tethered one, is being applied in the business world progressively.
In the future, this technology will be widely used on divers sectors including military training, sports simulation, education and so on. On CES 2018, not only will Realis bring the latest research achievements about this technology, but also VR multi-person interaction contents. Stay tuned!
